This is my first puzzle/field cache, but I wanted it to be a challenge. Since I've never hidden one like this before, I'll adjust the difficulty rating, etc., if I find that it is more easy or more difficult to find, based on logs from cachers. This is a "field puzzle," in that you will have to find the final coordinates by using only the clues in the description and listing and the local terrain and landmarks.
There are a series of steps to follow:
1. Determine the 7 Deadlies (capital vices or cardinal sins to some). Don’t rely too heavily on Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman’s version to help you come up with your list. If you aren’t sure of the official list, your best bet is to ask your priest, preacher, or pastor…or just Google it.
2. Use the listed coordinates as your starting point. You will not find the cache at these cords, but they will, incidentally, put you right outside a place that will easily allow you to commit the most delicious and what should be the first of the 7 Deadlies in your list to complete Step 3.
3. Take the first letter from each of the 7 Deadlies and rearrange them into a 7-letter generic product.
4. Look closely at the word you’ve created with the first letters of the 7 Deadlies. You’ll find the cache very close to a place that sells it in several varieties.
This is a busy area where one of my favorite local businesses serves Springfield, so be careful for muggles. Parking is available, and the cache will be within walking distance of where you park. As a courtesy, consider purchasing something from one of the establishments.
With a little thought or geo-know-how, you might just make a park and grab out of it. Good luck!
