Favorite DOS Commands: DIR /P Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Gat R Done: As there's been no cache to find for months and I have not heard back from you, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Please be advised that archiving is intended to be permanent. Help Center Article

If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

I think I’ve had a lot of creative cache series. There was the Series of Unfortunate Caches, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and the Hogfather series in Keene Creek. But it’s hard to keep up those high standards of creativity, hence: “Favorite DOS commands”.

The series commemorates the great tools that were available back when the most a computer would do when you turned it on was say:

C:/>

If you remember these commands, you too can get great discounts with AARP.

DIR /p

We didn’t have these fancy Explorer things – if you wanted to see your files, you would type DIR. The 300 files in your directory would scroll up your screen at blinding speed, and God help you if you missed the one you were looking for (unless you were really quick on the Pause button).

That all changed with DIR /p, which would brilliantly show one page at a time. But if you scrolled past that page, too bad, there was no back button, just try again.

Cache is a two-stage multi, a nice walk along a tiny trail.
