Geocache Description:

A view worth the hike. Shulaps Peak, at 2873 m, is the highest point in the Shulaps Range. On a clear day the view of the Coast Range and all it's glaciers is spectacular. A lot of work to get there but worth it once your there

THere is a few ways to get to the top of Shulaps Peak, all the ways we have tried start on the Jim Creek side of the mountain. A good 4X4, atv or dirt bike are needed to get to the start of the No Motorized Vehicle Area. Motor vehicles are not allowed above 1920m in this area. Or you can hike from Mud Lakes FSR near Marshall Lake. No matter how you get to the start of your hike an overnight camp would make this journey that much easier.

While the climb is not technical you will need to be careful and pick your route. It is not for the faint of heart or anyone who does not like heights or steep drop offs. I'm giving this a 5X5 not because the cache is hard to find but the work involved in getting to it.

Be aware the weather can change at any time. And when it does it can be ugly. We have beed caught in two whiteouts trying to get to the peak.

Hve Fun and Be Careful. Remember you are in the back country and help is a long way away
