Abi's First Ammo Can Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Olsonkidz: well i went to grab the two bugs to get them further south - didn't think this needed owner maintenance since i just checked it less than a month ago - but to my surprise some (@#@#@) went on private property for some reason and came back with my daughters ammo can. I will place another around here somewhere but this one is gone.

Geocache Description:

Our third in the Pitt area with hopefully more to come in the future and our sixth around Lake of the Woods and Koochiching County and 16th cache.

You shouldn't have a problem finding this.

Give a honk if you drive by the log house during normal caching hours!

My daughter won this ammo can at our first Geocaching Christmas event in Dec. 2012. She wasn't going to hide but after she played with it for a couple months she finally let me put it up - but still wasn't ready to hide. We finally convinced her to hide the cache but only in a virtually muggle proof area.

This cache is placed on private property with permission of the land owner.

Again please don't be going after this cache during the annual November migration to the woods. It's virtually the only time of year this area is busy.

In my quest to get this cache hidden and get home I also forgot to equip this with a writing instrument. So bring your own pencil/pen.

The community is located west of Baudette on Minnesota State Highway 11 at the intersection with Lake of the Woods County Road 6. A post office was in operation in Pitt from 1903 to 1993. Until then it had its own zip code 56665 and some long time residents of Pitt still have mail addressed to them in the zip code from 20 years ago. Pitt had a station on the Canadian Pacific railway line, but it has since been removed and is now only a whistle stop. The only business in Pitt is a boarded-up general store that closed in the 1990s, and little evidence remains of the town other than the state signs. To the north of the railroad tracks is a lot where pulpwood is handled.
Pitt was burned in the Baudette Fire of 1910. The church still has services every Sunday and is on the north side of the tracks.

Intial content - army men, bracelets and more swag.
