The coordinates provided are for the start point. You will need to collect information from each of the anchor locations (i.e. the street address numbers) to calculate the coordinates for the cache container. At the start point you will find a plaque about Juan Crespi for whom the nearby pond is named. This pond is a glorious place to watch and listen to birds. Their early morning sunrise symphony is spectacular!
Calculate the coordinates for the 5 anchor locations as follows (be sure to visit the locations in the order described):

Anchor 2: N 36 37 _ _ _ (year of plaque donation minus 285, divided by 2; W 121 55 _ _ _ (year of plaque donation minus 66, divided by 5)
Anchor 3: N 36 38. 0 _ _ (Crespi's year of death minus 6, divided by 74) ; W 121 55. _ _ _ (year of death minus 96, divided by 3)
Anchor 4: N 36 38. 0 _ _ (year Crespi was at Pt. Pinos minus 2, divided by 57); W 121 55. _ _ _ (year Crespi was at Pt. Pinos plus 52, divided by 3)
anchors 5-15/Final Cache location: N 36 38. _ _ _ (Anchor 1 address minus Anchor 2 address, minus 132); W 121 55. _ _ _ (Anchor 4 address minus Anchor 3 address, plus 710).
If you look carefully you can see all 11 "real" anchors from the street. The cache container is located below the slate slab behind the children reading next to the little library beneath the smallest and easterly most anchor (of the 11). No worries, the property owner is aware of and has given permission for the cache location. BONUS ANCHOR: Just a few hundred yards south of Crespi Pond up on the dune crest and near the 10th tee of the golf course) is Point Pinos Lighthouse. On the lighthouse grounds you will find another "Anchor of Pacific Grove" with a great "Gypsy" story attached. (Note: Grounds only open Friday - Sunday 1-3 p.m.).
