Rangataua Bay Views 2 (BOP) Traditional Cache

This is the 9th in a series of cache placements inspired by Bridgeaway with their Challenge of the FTF trackable to encourage at least twelve new caches by May 2014. We have now replaced with a smaller container as the larger one went missing.

There are great views across Rangataua Bay towards Welcome Bay from this cache location. As with ‘Rangataua Bay Views’ we recommend you approach from the east (Mt Maunganui direction). There is plenty of room to pull off to the left of SH29, but stay near the roadside to avoid getting your vehicle stuck if the area is wet. DO NOT park on the other side of the road and attempt to cross, as it’s very busy and has a 100km/hr speed limit. If coming from the Tauranga direction, please DO NOT attempt a u-turn as this would be very dangerous; drive onward to the roundabout near Baypark and return from there. Please take care with young children due to the busy road and also a steep bank on the other side of GZ (please note the slip warning sign).
