LA COPPIA "IMPERIA PANORAMA"
Questa cache è parte della coppia "Imperia Panorama". L'altra è GC4MV0W - Imperia Panorama #EAST - Cappella Sant'Anna. Entrambe sono nascoste nei pressi di due chiese che sorgono in suggestivi punti di belvedere da cui si può ammirare dall'alto Imperia e il suo mare, sia dal versante Est che dal versante Ovest.
Da ciascuna chiesa è anche possibile vedere l'altra... con un buon cannocchiale!
COME ARRIVARE
Se non volete camminare potete seguire le indicazioni per "Monte Calvario" (talvolta denominato anche "Monte Gagliardone") e parcheggiare a N 43° 52.441 E 008° 00.268. Sarete già a pochi metri dalla cache.
Se invece avete voglia di fare una piccola passeggiata in salita potete parcheggiare nei pressi della Via Aurelia. Alle coordinate N 43° 52.319 E 008° 00.589 inizia la Salita Monte Calvario lungo la quale ogni anno viene celebrata la Via Crucis.
IL MONTE CALVARIO
La sommità del monte è liberamente accessibile a ogni ora, e appartiene alla Confraternita Ss, Trinità.
Da qui si può godere verso Est un'imperdibile vista del Parasio, dei porti, delle prime colline costiere, della città e del litorale fino a Capo Berta (e se il tempo lo permette, specialmente nelle mattinate più limpide, anche molto oltre!).
All'interno del prato affacciato sulle campagne che scendono sul mare sono ubicate le tre croci che costituiscono il termine della Via Crucis che inizia al livello del mare dall'Aurelia (all'altezza del borgo marinaro Cappuccini.)
La chiesa, gestita dalla Confraternita, è chiusa e viene utilizzata soltanto in occasione di specifiche ricorrenze religiose o per la celebrazione di matrimoni.
E' inoltre presente un Museo delle Confraternite (http://www.museodelleconfraternite.it/) visitabile su appuntamento.
Solitamente questo posto non è affollato (salvo matrimoni!), e a seconda dell'ora ci potreste incontrare qualche turista intento a fotografare il panorama, qualche jogger, o qualche coppia in vena di romanticità.
LA CACHE
La cache è nascosta nelle immediate vicinanze della sommità, e per le sue dimensioni non può contenere altro che il logbook e una matita.
Per favore richiudete il contenitore con cura e fate attenzione a rimettetelo nella stessa posizione in cui lo trovate.
THE COUPLE "IMPERIA PANORAMA"
This cache is part of the couple "Imperia Panorama". The other is GC4MV0W - Imperia Panorama #EAST - Cappella Sant'Anna. Both are hidden near two churches that are located in beautiful panoramic viewpoints from which you can admire Imperia and the sea, both from the East and from the West.
From each church you can also see the other... with a good telescope!
HOW TO GET THERE
If you do not want to walk you can follow the signs for "Monte Calvario" (sometimes also referred to as "Monte Gagliardone") and park at N 43 ° 52.441 E 008 ° 00,268 . You will be just a few meters from the cache.
But if you want to do a little walk uphill you can park near the Via Aurelia. At the coordinates N 43 ° 52,319 E 008 ° 00,589 starts a path named "Salita Monte Calvario" along which every year is celebrated the "Via Crucis".
MONTE CALVARIO
The top of the mountain is freely accessible at every hours, and belongs to the Brotherhood "Confraternita Ss, Trinità".
From here you can enjoy a view that can't be missed, toward the East. You will see Parasio, the harbors, the hills, the city and the coast until Capo Berta (and if the weather permits, especially on clear mornings, also much more!) .
Inside the lawn overlooking the sea there are three crosses that represent the end of the Via Crucis which begins at sea level from the main Aurelia Street (near the small seaside village "Borgo Cappuccini") .
The church is run by the Brotherhood, is closed and is only used during specific religious occasions or for the celebration of weddings.
There is also a "Museum of the Brotherhoods" (http://www.museodelleconfraternite.it/ ) visitable by appointment.
Usually this place is not crowded (except for weddings!) and depending on the time you might meet some tourists, some jogger, or a few couples in the mood for romance.
THE CACHE
The cache is hidden close to the top and the lawn, and its size do not permit to contain more than the logbook and the pencil.
Please, be careful to properly close the container and put it back in the same position which you found it in.
