Geocache Description:

I had several caches in my bag & it seems I forgot to put a pen in this one & have not had a chance to return yet so Please...
BYO pen!
Be warned: there is only the odd patch of mobile coverage out here, so come prepared with info printed out or preloaded to your GPS capable device!

With an early start, it is possible for super keen enduro-cachers to do all the caches at Mimiwhangata in a day, but you may want to take a more leisurely pace and spend at least a weekend if not longer. You may get here & decide you just don't want to leave!
Plan your trip by visiting the DOC website here--> Mimiwhangata

You will need to explore the northern part of the park and it is up to you how to get to this cache, rockhopping & along the beach at lowtide or around the headland loop track...enjoy the views!
* July 2016* I've added some GPX tracks you can copy, if anyone would like further guidance --> Headland loop track
or --> Headland loop track 2

A Pirate Tale
Part 2
*Parched*
Despite the iron-fisted cap'n shouting his orders to retrieve the treasure from the hold, all hell broke loose. Some of the crew abandoned ship only to be taken by mysterious creatures risen from the deep. The rest who obeyed managed to save themselves & some of the plunder, though their fate may have not been any better. The night of the storm passed and with the new day came an unusual searing heat and crew were sent to scout for water. oh what strange vexed land this be... some other strange anomaly, a curse of the mer-wench, or confusion brought on by exhuastion & heat? nobody truly knows as only one scout returned, reporting several water sources nearby, then broke into a babbling gibberish & mysteriously dropped dead; the demise of the other scouts remains unknown as they were never seen again....
