You are on the way to the old ferry pier..Follow the road just a few hundred meters. Boats had started from here to deliver coconuts and other fruits to Surat. Originally it was also the only pier for passengers to go to the island. In the 80th of last century it was closed. Now, if we want to go by boat we use the piers in Nathon, Lipa Noi or the catamaran piers in the North.
It is a very quiet place and you can enjoy the great view to the mainland.
If you will join the way left you would reach another very silent and nearly unknown location with a sala of a lot of Buddha statues. It is a great place for meditation. For developing your mind by Vipassana meditation you can rent one of the small huts for a few days.
Last time when we visited this place there was just one monk. He can inform you about the schedule and procedure of the meditation. Thai language skills or a thai friend for translating are helpful. Donations are welcome to develop this place to a wat.
