Geocache Description:

Pilot Grove was established in 1873, it was a waypoint for settlers heading west. The wagon trains would look for the grove of tree to pilot them westward, hence the name Pilot Grove. 140 years later It is still a thriving farming community.  In 1973 Pilot Grove held it's Centennial celebration, to commemerate the 100th anniversay a centennial coin was made. There is a centennial coin for the first to find, the coin itself is now 40 years old.


Cache is a tan tin can approximately 5" x 8" located along the edge of the Pilot Grove City Park and the KATY Trail. You can park within feet of the cache. Cache contains a centennial coin for FTF, it also has numerous other items. Please place cache back as you found it. Watch for muggles as area can be busy at times.
