At least 2 young men have earned the rank of Eagle Scout by helping QAC Parks on the Island Trails. Chris Z., troop 278, helped make & install the benches & picnic tables along the South Island trail. Mike DY., also from troop 278, replaced all of the ½ mile markers on both the Cross Island & the South Island Trails. Matt L. created this garden, but his Eagle rank is still pending at this time.
If you do this cache as a C&D, please walk around the garden. While you are signing the log, keep an eye on the garden, as I have seen some beautiful birds and butterflies fly in and out of there. I saw a prothonotary warbler several times here. Also, keep an eye out for Bald Eagles as we have quite a few here on the island.
