WHEN? Saturday Oct 12th at 1pm. The backup rain day is Sunday Oct 13th at 1pm. This lazy river paddle will take about 3.0 hours.
WHY? Let's enjoy an easy paddle with fall colors on the Fox River. The leaves should be at their brilliant peak.
WHERE? The Fox River just southwest of Muskego. It's super close to all the Milwaukee suburbs. The coordinates at the top of this page are put-in at Big Bend Park. The additional coordinates below are the take-out near Bridge Drive/Fox River Road at the DNR boat landing there.
EQUIPMENT? You have to supply your own watercraft: fishing boat, canoe, kayak, raft or custom made milk-jug boat. It will be too cold for river tubing. The local canoe/kayak rental is closed this year.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES? I plan on hiding some permanent Geocaches on the river just for the event. Others can contribute and hide some of their own. We could have dinner after the paddle if everyone wants to bring a small dish to pass. We can load up the boats and go back to Big Bend Park which has nice facilites. I'll make 6 quarts of tasty chili in my Crockpot to share. If the day is a little cool it will be nice to have a hot meal!
