INTERNATIONAL EARTHCACHE DAY 2013




International EarthCache Day is the first Sunday of Earth Science Week, and this year will be celebrated on October 13, 2013. Events all over the world will be helping to get cachers involved in this fun and educational part of geocaching. For more information about the EarthCache program visit EarthCache.org

- WHO: Experienced Earthcache veterans, cachers who have always wanted to do an EarthCache but haven't, or cachers who have never even HEARD of EarthCaches - all are welcome!

- WHAT: After a brief intro to EarthCaches, we'll walk the stream-side trail to meet the requirements of the EarthCache located in this park. You do not have to walk with us to log the event, but you must come along in order to log the EarthCache. Feel free to do the EarthCache on your own, too. The CO will be there to answer questions.

- WHERE: Fall Run Park, Shaler, PA. The given coordinates are for the pavilion, and parking is located nearby.

- WHEN: Sunday, October 13, 2013. The event starts at 11:00 AM and doing the EarthCache should take a little more than an hour. (That should give you plenty of time to get home for the Steeler game - as painful as they've been so far this season!!)

- WHY: It's International EarthCache Day!!! We can talk about doing EarthCaches, or creating your own EarthCaches, or earth science in general. There are also some caches in this park, and plenty of others near-by. Come on out!!!!!
