The 2013 Race HQ will be at the pavilion at Palmer Lake, and the race will be centered around Ben Lomand Mountain and the surrounding public trails. The course is ~2.5 miles in length, and there will some sections of scrambling over rock. Nothing technical, but please be prepared for some climbing around if you are racing. We’ll have some small prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.

We will be having a raffle this year, with 15-20 geocaching-related items. Cost for tickets will be 1 for $1, 6 for $5. We will be happy to accept any raffle donations of geo-stuff that you want to give away.
Please bring your trackables! We’ll have a place set aside for swapping & discovery of anything you bring.

What you need to bring:
-Food (we won’t be serving anything)
-Water
-Sneakers/running shoes/hiking boots (depends on if your team is going to be running for walking the course)
-GPS
-Pen/paper/phone that you can notes on
-Lawn/beach chairs (there are picnic tables here, but you may want to bring a chair in case there is a large crowd or other people are sharing the pavilion with us)
-Camera (it’s great to see any pictures you take of your team while racing)
-Warm clothing (never know what the weather will do)

Here are our rules for the race. We will have printouts of these and all other race related info at Race HQ.

1. You can only use your feet. That means no biking, horses, quads, or anything other than your feet allowed during the race.
2. Be stealthy. We do not want muggles taking stages of the race in the middle of the event.
3. If a muggle does ask what you are doing tell them.
4. Place all stages back EXACTLY how you found them.
5. Respect the area at all times.
6. Do not cheat. It makes it no fun for anybody if someone cheats.
7. Be a good sport. Remember that the point of this event is having a good time.
8. HAVE FUN!!! This is supposed to be a fun event, not an insane competition.

We hope to see a large crowd this year and are looking forward to race day!
