Railway Series
Series brought to you by...
andonbray & Dutchgrandpa
This Series of caches will follow the former track bed of the G.R. G.H. & M. Electric railway with stops at former depots and other remnants of this important and short lived part of West Michigan history.
Walker Center
Walker Center was a small settlement located at the intersection of Leonard St. & Walker Ave. Early in the Interurban era this was a fairly important location. At Walker Center there was a spur that ran to what is was could have been a car barn or maybe a power station. That building was at the posted coordinates. It is likely that there was a small depot here rather than a mere Flag Stop.
(1907 Walker Center)
It appears that as time went on the building at Walker Center became less important as the spur does not show up in a 1922 map of the same location.
(1922 Walker Center. Note: Spur not shown)
Now to the cache...
To figure out where the final is located you will have to visit the posted location. There you will find a number on the building. This number is ABCD.
Now that you have the 4 numbers you can put them into this formula for the final coordinates...
N42 59.(A + 0), (D - 3), (C + 3)
W085 42. (B - 1), (D + 1), (C + 5)
The final cache is a 1/2 cup round Lock and Lock.
There is a chance of muggles so use some stealth. Also, remember to BYOP!
ENJOY!!!!!
