Geocache Description:

Welcome to the "Things Invented by Accident" Series by BigToothyCachinGrin!

DungeonBeast is the FTF the VeryFirstTIBACache!

The 1st three caches in the TIBA series are located in this same area. You may encounter some soggy soil since ground-zero is located near the water. There is also the chance of crossing thorns and poison ivy, but these were not too bad on the day this cache was placed in late September. Please be prepared and have fun!

The idea for Sticky Notes was conceived in 1974 by Arthur Fry as a way of holding bookmarks in his hymnal while singing in the church choir. He was aware of an adhesive accidentally developed in 1968 by fellow 3M employee Spencer Silver. No use for the lightly sticky stuff was apparent until Fry's idea. The 3M company was initially skeptical about the product's profitability, but in 1980, the product was introduced around the world. Today, these little sticklers are commonly known as Post-It Notes and are sold in more than 100 countries (by the editors of Publications International, Ltd).
