Pantruthyn Lane Series - Beginning or end Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

darters r us!: Due to the immanent development of the locality within the next 6 months or so and the de-treeing of one side of Pantrythin Lane this series of wheelchair accessible caches has to be archived but once the redevelopment of the Lane has been completed then hopefully the area will be once again suitable for the placement of geocaches whether it will be by myself or another cacher sincerely dartersrus! Geocache Description:

These are a series of seven fully wheelchair/pushchair accessible caches but some help may be required to retrieve the container. Four out of the seven are large enough for Travelbugs/swaps. Please re-hide all caches as found as this lane can get quite busy with cyclists and dog walkers. All co-ordinates are accurate to within 5m . I have had to replace this container with a nano until I can sort out waterproofing issues and magnet strangth

My main driving force for this series of caches is the lack of wheelchair friendly geocaches in the locality ,  it is getting better but still falls short. So this series of seven caches will be fully wheelchair/pushchair accessible ,  but due to muggles some help might be needed to actually retrieve the containers. My son has been wheelchair bound since he was born 2007 and over the years has developed an interest in darts (more than likely due to both his mum and dad being active dart players)  And it was with great joy that earlier on in this year 2013 actual legislation has been passed to enable wheelchair depended patrons the chance to compete against fully able body darters to tournament standard , hopefully in the next few years we will see more and more wheelchair bound persons competing even in televised tournaments – the only difference is that due to their restricted height wheelchair bound competitors can throw at a board set lower than the normal height mainly 4ft 6 or 137 cm (in the course of one  these caches you will come across these numbers). – One of these caches will be dedicated to my best friend Matthew Wills who at aged 19 was a perfectly reasonable , (if not good)   dart player , actively playing in Pencoed and Bridgend leagues – that was until in August 2013 he was involved in a motorbike accident whereby a car ploughed into him and run over him resulting in him being hospitalised in Cardiff with life threatening injuries , broken back, leg, eye, arm ,  the list goes on. Due to the intensity of the accident he is at the moment left with no movement below his nipple or chest level and so for the next few years at least has got to accept life being wheelchair bound – hopefully he will walk again – but this is one of my ways to honour him as my friend – that even being confined to a wheelchair your dreams can be realised.

Anyway enough babbling  onto the chase , the entire series should not take you more than an hour or so depending on your caching experience ,  most of these caches are of the clip lock type - all I ask is that you replace them as you found them – with minimal chance of them being muggled as I’m not sure exactly how busy this lane is , or will become when more factories are built along the nearby road , happy caching
