Geocache Description:

The Jack Smith Creek Wetlands Project is a 51 acre constructed wetlands and is currently the "Largest in the State".  The site holds over 5 million gallons of stormwater runnoff, contains over 140,000 wetlands plants, has the capability of pumping over 42,000 gallons of water per min. through two diesel pumps and has an abundance of wildlife. Maintained by the City of New Bern. Built in 2013

This cache is an ammo can and should be an easy find. However, it is not a quick park and grab, as you will be required to navagate around the wetlands to the location of this cache. Though the wetlands are wet, the cache is in a dry location and traveling to its location is easy and dry.  The cache has a trackable (TAAVCM) for the first to find as well as several other New Bern items. Informational Brochures have been placed in side this cache, feel free to pick one up and enjoy touring the site. Parking is available in the vacant lot at the corner of Simmons Street and Oak Road. Cars should not park along the gravel driveway near the RR tracks.
