Wat Sumret is the second oldest temple of the island. It is located at a very quiet place with with remarkable trees that offer shady places to relax.
At present three monks live in Wat Sumret.
One of the houses contains a fine collection of revered and valuable Buddha images. So valuable are they that the temple has recently suffered a spate of thefts, and so the door now remains locked. A monk will open the hall for you on request.
