Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of 16 roadside caches placed along the N6 Section 1 between East London and Stutterheim. The caches have all been placed at spots where it is possible to pull well off the road. Please be aware that this is a National Road with fast moving and heavy traffic so keep aware of the risks when retrieving these caches and take special care of children.

The N6, along with all roads designated as national roads are constructed and maintained by the South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) who are an independent statutory company registered in terms of the Companies Act. The South African government, represented by the Minister of Transport, is the sole shareholder and owner of SANRAL. SANRAL's mandate is to finance, improve, manage and maintain the national road network and is committed to carry out its mandate by protecting and preserving the environment through context-sensitive solutions. Love them or hate them, this section of national road is well maintained and a pleasure to travel. We hope a little geocaching along the way will make your journey that little bit more enjoyable and fun. This cache is placed at the turnoff to Dewpoint. According to Wikipedia, "the dew point is the temperature below which the water vapor in air condenses into liquid water at the same rate at which it evaporates. The condensed water is called dew when it forms on a solid surface". Why a farm here should be called Dewpoint is a mystery. Maybe someone knows?

Please replace as found.
