One should remained parked on the dirt road or carefully pull into the opened gate lane (named after the farm owner).
This is basically a rapid park and log. You can park within 50 feet of the cache. Although not much for parking other than beside the road as far as you can, of which I believe to have a reasonable space. There is a farm tractor lane and an ATV trail that goes through here. The cache container is a hard plastic ammo box.
Converse Farm was established at this location on 30 September 2010. The farmhouse was built in 1814 by Asa Fowles and his wife Mary. This location consists of 25 acres producing hay and heirloom vegetables (turnips, onions, carrots, horseradish and garlic). The fenced in portion of the farm contains a unique apple orchard with over 60 different varieties of apples trees, a few rare cherry trees, some unusual plum trees, and few pear trees. This location also has 45 high bush blueberry bushes of 9 different varieties. This farm also supports 10 Langstroth honey bee hives and also has a small 8x12 Maple sugarhouse. Converse Farm is part of a 332 acre farm that is located throughout New England (Connecticut & Maine) and Nova Scotia, Canada. The forestry products are harvested in Washington County, Maine. The Converse Family has proudly farmed in New England since 1630, just 10 years after the pilgrims! This location is near the junction of an old Indian trail. The town was a part of the Waldo Patent purchased by a consortium of wealthy Boston investors which included David Sears. First settled in 1804 and called Fraternity Village by Ben Ames Williams, it was incorporated on February 5, 1814 as Searsmont, named after its proprietor. The town was noted for its productive soil, water power and abundant forests of white pine. By 1859, when the population was 1,693, it had fifteen sawmills and two gristmills. In 1886, it had five lumber mills, three cooperages, a sash, blind and pump factory, four carriage factories, a tannery, a boot and shoe factory, and a coffin and bedstead factory. Today, Searsmont continues its lumbering heritage with two mills in town.
