Eglių sėklininkystės selekcinė plantacija - tai dar vienas Dubravos eksperimentinės mokomosios miškų urėdijos išmyslas. Jei teisybę sakė tėtis, lydėdamas mane į darželį, tai ši plantacija įkurta gavus užsakymą iš Šiaurės ašigalio, kur Senelis skundėsi kreivomis ir mažomis eglėmis. Todėl mokslininkai-miškininkai visoje Lietuvoje išrinko pačias aukščiausias ir tiesiausias egles, surinko jų konkorežius ir iš sėklų pasodino šią plantaciją. Čia taip pat atvyksta Senio Šalčio pagalbininkai-nykštukai - dažniausiai tai būna Miškų technikumo (dabar kolegijos) studentai ar absolventai, lipa į gražiausias egles ir renka jų konkorežius.
