Kurogo Sta.
This is one of the stations of the Joso Line in Chikusei city, Ibaraki. Because it opened on 1st November 1913, it becomes the opening of business 100th anniversary in 2013. Cherry trees in the platform to the Shimodate were planted in commemoration of the opening of business. The station building was rebuilt approximately ten years ago.
According to one view, this land was said to be "畦子" in old days. For a while later, the letter "畦" had been replaced to "黒" unintentionally. A military commander Ko no Morofuyu built a fort here and named "Kurogo fort (黒子の砦)" in 14th century.

黒子駅
この駅は茨城県筑西市にある常総線の無人駅です。常総鉄道開業と同時に設置されたので2013年は開業100周年になります。下館方面へのプラットフォームにある桜は開業当時に植えられました。今の駅舎は10年ほど前の2003年に建て替えられたものです。
一説では、この土地はもともとは畦子殿の郷と言われていたのですが、いつのまにか畦の文字が黒に置き換わって黒子村と称していたそうです。そして人の住んでいない荒地になっていたこともあるのですが、南北朝時代に高師冬がここに砦を築き、黒子の砦と称したそうです。
