The cache highlights one large erratic left over from the ice age
the cache is located just off the old Pennant road (ATV trail now) away from the bog. Evidence of the last immense ice sheet that covered Nova Scotia 20,000 years ago is visible around Indian Lake and Little Pond. The many granite boulders that rest randomly in the lakes, along the lake shore and within the forest are glacial erratic's, carried along by the ice and then dropped where they lie today, when the ice melted 10,000 years ago.The terrain here is a good example of being shaped by the ice age. The growth shows the harsh weathering of next to no soil, and salt air the terrain is typical from the ice age with lots of swamp/bog. Proper footwear is recommended and series may be best done when ground is frozen. Thank you to Mr. Warhead for his help in placing these caches
