Trg hrvatskih branitelja u Retfali krasi spomenik-fontana koja se razlikuje od svih fontana u gradu. Izrađena je od dva dijela – gornji dio je od monolitnog bijelog kamena, a donji dio fontane izrađen je u kružnom obliku s pet kaskada koje se šire u koncentričnim krugovima iz podnožja spomenika. U središtu fontane na kamenoj gromadi, visokoj 3 metra i 58 cm, od monolitnog bijelog kamena oblika kvadrata grubog površinskog reljefa uklesana su imena poginulih branitelja s područja Retfale, te oblik ribe i ptice, rad akademskog kipara Marijana Sušca. Podnožje spomenika je ujedno i izvor iz kojeg se voda u malim slapovima tiho razlijeva kaskadama. Fontani u noćnim satima četiri reflektora daju posebnu svjetlosnu raskoš. U sklopu uređenja cijeloga trga prostor oko spomenika popločen je kamenom te uređen hortikulturnim otocima.

Square of Croatian defenders in Retfala adorned monument-fountain that is different from all the fountains in the city. It is made of two parts - the upper part of the monolithic white stone, and the lower part of the fountain is made in a circular form of the five cascades that spread in concentric circles from the foot of the monument. In the center of the fountain on the stone boulder, 3 meters high and 58 cm from the monolithic white stone square shape rough surface reliefs carved the names of deceased veterans from the area Retfala and shape of fish and birds, the work of sculptor Marijana Susac.
