Geocache Description:

OUTTA THIS WORLD!
A geo-event to celebrate fun, food, fellowship . . and outer space. What? Outer space? Read on . . .

Geocaching is going to outer space...again! Astronaut Rick Mastracchio (AstroRM) is going to take a travel bug made by students from his old elementary school to the International Space Station as an aid in teaching students all over the world about space, geography, and geocaching. Read all about it on the geocaching blog (Related Web Page above)! That's where you'll find out how to follow the adventures of AstroRM and the travel bug on all the social media platforms, too. What a cool opportunity for you and your kids!

His planned launch is from Kazakhstan at 04:08 GMT on November 7, 2013, which is 20:08 (8:08 p.m.) on November 6, 2013, in Anacortes, so that's why we're meeting at this time.

All geocachers and friends of geocaching are invited. We'll eat pizza, chat about geocaching, catch up with old friends, make new friends, and if someone with more tech expertise than I have can help me out, maybe watch the launch. (Be aware, though, that launches are often delayed for any number of reasons.)

New cachers are especially welcome. If you let us know that you're new, we can hook you up with an experienced cacher or two for a future caching date.
