Geocache Description:

A medium cache near the site where 43 miners were rescued after the 1926 Pabst Mine Disaster.


This is another cache hidden within Miners Memorial Heritage Park, a 167-acre park located within the city of Ironwood, Michigan.  Visitors to this cache can learn about the 1926 Pabst Mine Disaster and the rescue of 43 iron miners trapped underground for five days.  The cache is a short walk from a nearby road.  This 9.4-liter cache was created by the Friends of Miners Memorial Heritage Park, a nonprofit organization responsible for developement and maintenance of the park.
