In order to get to the cache, follow the trail to the rock beach, before following the compass. Despite what the map would have you believe, it is NOT in the water, nor is it in the woods.
The difficulty has been raised from a 2, as it seems that it may be harder than originally thought. We checked the co-ordinates on three separate devices, all got the same reading. The terrain may be a little rough for some. The spiral staircase is easy enough to descend, but the cliff stairs are quite steep, and some of the steps are rather tall. There are railings all the way down, but for those who have never visited Spirit Rock, be extra cautious. Rain, general wetness, and leaves will also make getting to the rock beach a little more dangerous. Go slowly and enjoy the view as you come down, and most people will make it down safe and sound. This cache will not be available during winter months, as it is probably rather dangerous to get to.
