As you follow the Wallenpaupack Creek Trail, enjoy the view of the dry-creek bed. The Wallenpaupack Creek once flowed through here and down to the Lackawaxen River, powering a grist mill in Hawley. To create the hydroelectric power plant, water was diverted into the flowline and transported to the power plant in the Kimbles section of Hawley.
You’ll know you’re approaching the cache when you begin to see “rhodies” in the woods. Find a way off the platform and into the wetland. Wetlands are sensitive habitats for frogs, newts and macroinvertebrates. Please be mindful and replace the cache carefully so it doesn’t disturb wildlife. You're looking for a magnetic nanocache.
