Geocache Description:

Mike and I met whist out geocaching and as we are celebrating our first year together as a couple we thought it appropriate that we place a cache to mark the occasion.

In 1999 Mr David Thomas, president and recorder of Camborne Old Cornwall Society, was informed of the discovery of an ancient Cornish cross. For many years the cross had been inverted and half buried in the ground to act as a gatepost.

Thanks to the support from the farmer who discovered the cross it has been re-erected by members of Camborne Old Cornwall Society at a location at Gwellavellan, Kehelland, Camborne, close to its original position. The roadside site is in an attractive position overlooking St Ives Bay. It is thought that its original position was adjacent to an ancient path that ran from Gwithian to Camborne Church Town via Menadarva.

The cache is a large micro hidden near the cross. There is somewhere to pull up next to it but please don't block the field entrance.
