Kościół w Żeńsku / The Church in Żeńsko Traditional Cache

Kościół pochodzi z XIII wieku, objęty pełną ochroną konserwatorską od 1956r. Ciekawym elementem najstarszej części koscioła, hali kamiennej - jest ostrołukowy gotycki potral, który to, podobnie jak hala pochodzi z końca XIII wieku. W okresie średniowiecza dobudowano do niejgo masywną wieżę z kamienno - ceglanymi przyporami. W 1707 roku budynek otynkowano oraz przebudowano otwory okienne, nadając budowki wygląd "neoromański". W ścianie prezbiterium znajduje się zamurowane płytkami podłogowymi biforium datowane prawdopodobnie na wiek XIV. Wewnątrz kościoła znajduje się chór z początku XIX wieku. Dawniej znajdowała się w nim również cynowa chrzcielnica (obecnie zaginiona), która przedstawiała ryt z chrztem Jezusa, którą fundował w 1657 r pastor Georg Rebentisch z żoną. Żeńsko na cele wojenne (w 1917-1918r) oddało wszystkie swoje dzwony ( jeden z 1684 r, a drugi pochodzący z 1825 r), dlatego też mieszkańcy musięli fundować nowe. W 1922 r miejscowa parafia ufundowała dwa dzwony, które działają po dziś dzień.
Obszar kościoła otacza kamienny murek, który przechodzi w ozdobną bramę wejściową datowaną na XV / XVI wiek. Owa brama cmentarna również znajduje się w rejestrze zabytków.

The church dates back to the 13th century and the building is under the full preservation maintenance since 1956. The interesting element of the oldest part of the church, the stone hall, is an ogive gothic portal which, just as the hall, dates back to the end of the 13th century. In the Medieval times a massive tower with stone and brick buttresses was added to the building. In 1970 the building was plastered and the windows were rebuild for a more "neoroman" look. A biforium dated for the 14th stays inside the prezbiterial wall. Inside the church there is a choir loft from the beginning of the 19th century. It used to have a tin font (unfortunately lost) with the engraving of Jesus Christ's baptism, founded in 1657 by pastor Rebentisch and his wife. Żeńsko gave away all its bells for military purposes (one from 1684 and the second one from 1825), that's why the inhabitants had to found the new bells. In 1922 the local parish founded two bells, which are working till this day.
The church area is surrouned by a stone fance with a decorative entrance gate dated back to the 16th century. The aforementioned cementary gate is in the Register of Historic Monuments.
