Geocache Description:

A good cache for beginners. All are welcome.

This cache is in keeping with the local tradition of recognizing geocachers who have reached certain milestones by placing a cache in their honor. In my mind the Countryside Cachers are a little like the musical group the Traveling Wilburys. Each member of the group has their own special achievements and talents that make them accomplished geocachers in their own right, but together they make a little "super team". Because they enjoy each others company and cache together often I thought it would be appropriate to recognize them together.

The Browndogposse is the team that made it to 1000 first among the group. They have geocached in 6 different States within the U.S.A. and have also done some international geocaching in Ireland and Germany.

Newgeocat was next to get to 1000 finds. She has focused her attentions in the States of Illinois and Wisconsin. She has approximately 70 active caches she has hidden at this time. Some may remember hunting notable series' such as "The Grumpy Old Men" series, "Critter" series, and "Guardrail" series (for when you need a quickie).

Vinjenso, the technical wizard of the team, was the most recent member to find his 1000. He also has focused his attentions between the lands' of Lincoln and Cheese. A man of few words, he may be in contention for breaking the record for geocacher with the fewest number of characters used on average to log a find. Go get 'em "V".

This cache is actually three caches in one. You may choose to log in on one or more of the logbooks to congratulate the individual members of the team. For each logbook you sign you may log one find. (So up to three.)

The cache container is "odd" but should not present a great challenge to find. The greatest challenge will be avoiding muggles. Most don't hang around long but please use your best suburban stealth. This cache is not meant to be a Park n' Grab. If you make it that, then you are not stealthy. There is parking really, conspicuously, close. Conspicuous parking does not equal stealthy either and may provide you with some unwanted LEO attention in this community. I suggest parking at or near the coordinates provided (N 41 48.079 W 088 22.591) for parking and walking over. I know, what a drag, exercise and all that stuff. Shouldn't be too bad. I'm terribly out of shape and I didn't even get winded walking there to place it.

The lid should be on only finger tight. But recognizing finger strength is a variable attribute among people and weather conditions may also be a factor I will offer this helpful tid bit. If you regularly need assistance with the lid on your favorite jar of "whatever", then you should bring that person with to help you with the lid... or a large Cresent wrench, which ever packs easier.

There is some room for small trackables and swag. The cache has some of both to start. It should go without saying but, PLEASE place the cache back as you found it.

Alright, now that we have all that out of the way, let's have some fun.

Congratulations to Bandlads on the FTF!
