A Travel Bug is hitching a ride with American astronaut Rick Mastracchio on the 38th expedition to the International Space Station.
Mastracchio will be using the Travel Bug as an educational tool to help teach students around the world about geography and provide other educational lessons.
He’ll also find the International Space Station geocache while living aboard the ISS for 6 months.
The mission is scheduled to launch from Kazakhstan at 11:08 PM EST on November 6.
Geocaching HQ will issue a Geocaching in Space souvenir to those who attend Event Caches on either November 6th or November 7th.
More information can be found at the Geocaching in Space Event Center.
We will be meeting at Subway in Williamston from 5:30 - 7:00 PM
We have our own room for this event, feel free to bring any and all travel bugs for trade or discovery!
