(PL) Prosta skrzynka schowana na ulicy Postępu. Postęp to ciekawe słowo – w Wikipedii przetłumaczone tylko do 20 języków. Co ciekawe - w każdym języku jakoś tak zupełnie inaczej wychodzi. Wg słowackiej wersji miało oryginalnie neutralne znaczenie – z początku postęp był rozumiany jako krok do przodu lub do tylu. Dopiero od 15/16 wieku jest rozumiany jako krok do przodu. Logika kierunku jest do dziś dobrze zauważalna w słowackim gdzie postęp to - napredovanie czy w srbochorwackim – napredak. Pojęcie postępu pochodzi z filozofii. Wiara w postęp była jedną z podstawowych zasad światopoglądu encyklopedystów francuskich, myślicieli oświecenia oraz XIX-wiecznych pozytywistów. Ja mam jeszcze inne skojarzenie ze słowem „Postęp” – Progressive rock – to czasy – Pink Floyd, Marillion, Porcupine Tree (LP-Warszawa). No tak, ale kto to dziś pamięta…?
(EN) A simple cache hidden in the street called “Progress”. Progress is an interesting word – in Wikipedia it is translated only into 20 languages. And what's interesting is it comes in each language somehow quite different. According to the Slovak version it had originally neutral meaning - progress was at first seen as a step forward or backward. Only in the 15th or 18th century it was seen purely as a step forward. The logic is well marked in Slovak – napredovanie whether srbochorwackim - Napredak. In both it sounds lkike “forwardgoing”. The term itself comes from the philosophy. The belief in progress was one of the basic principles of French thinkers of the Enlightenment age and other nineteenth-century positivists. I have my personal association with the word “Progress” - Progressive rock - those were the “real” days - Pink Floyd, Marillion, Porcupine Tree (LP-Warszawa!!).
