Latitude 47: Geocache Of The Week
Back in April 2010, the Geocaching Blog launched the Geocache of the Week award to highlight worthy caches around the world. Tragedy (GCCD40) was the inaugural recipient of the award but since then, over 200 caches in more than 60 countries have now earned that honour. Sadly not all of them are still active but with a new cache being added to the list every week the number available is sure to grow. Hit the jump to head over to the Geocaching Blog posts related to the Geocaches of the Week. Below you can also see a bird's eye view of where all of these caches are located around the world (note - this only shows geocaches that were active at the last update). I've also provided a few statistics for those of you might be interested.

The Challenge
Your challenge is simple... Find at least 10 caches that have been awarded the honour of Geocache of the Week. When logging, please provide evidence of your qualification. The easiest way to see if you qualify is by making use of the challenge checker from Project-GC. For those who wish to do it themselved... To help you figure out if you qualify you can check out the following bookmark list for a list of all caches that have received the award. The challenge checker is based off of that list as well so if that list is out of date for any reason (e.g. I'm travelling, etc.) you can also try using the following one too.
Rules
Some simple rules...
- All previous finds count - even if the cache is now archived
- Generally accepted rules, guidelines and conditions for logging a cache find apply. These must be caches listed on Geocaching.com that you have personally found and logged.
- No Found logs on caches that you own will be allowed. If one of your caches appears on the list then you will need to find something else.
- In the case that a "series" has been given the award, it is the cache that is linked to from the Latitude 47 blog that is the one that counts (see bookmark list).
The Cache
The difficulty rating of this cache reflects the challenge itself, which will require multiple trips to find enough caches to qualify; at the time of publishing only 8 people in Sweden (the CO included) qualify for the challenge with a few others being close). The terrain rating is for the final itself.
