The Lord's Maze: Reborn! Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hoosier_Reviewer: Since there has been no response to my previous note, I am archiving the cache.

While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you for a reasonable amount of time, we cannot do so indefinitely. In light of the lack of communication regarding this geocache, it has been archived to free up the area for new placements. You will not be able to unarchive this listing. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up this geocache or any remaining bits as soon as possible.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived."

Thank you,

Geocache Description:

The coordinates above are not the location of this cache.  But you will need to go there to start yor journey.

This is an Intercache placed in the Lindenwood Nature Preserve. This cache was placed with permission and cooperation from the Lindenwood Nature Preserve staff and the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation. Special thanks to Renee Sinacola and Tony Acosta of the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation for helping out with this cache.

In order to keep this cache alive, there are some rules that MUST be followed. This is a nature preserve and the staff would like to preserve the nature (funny, huh?). So in keeping with that idea, here are some rules that must be followed without exception:

The preserve is now open year round from dusk until dawn!

The preserve is surrounded by 8-foot fencing with barbed wire around the top. Pretty stupid to try and jump if you ask me.

No pets.  No bikes or motorized vehicles.
Sorry but that is one of the rules.Self-explanatory if you ask me.

There is a podium at the front of the preserve and the staff would like all their visitors to sign in. Hey if we can show that Geocaching increases attendance in the parks, then the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation will support us that much more!!! So please sign in and let 'em know you are Geocaching!

STAY ON THE MARKED TRAILS.
This is an important one. So in keeping with it, all the locations ARE ON THE TRAIL OR RIGHT NEXT TO IT!! The trails are marked and maps are available. If the GPSr is steering you off the path, then the accuracy is off due to the woods. STAY ON THE TRAILS!! Also, most of the coordinates for this cache will NOT lead to an actual cache. Most will lead to clues that have been integrated into their surroundings. A complete list of rules can be found at the Lindenwood Nature Preserve website.

The Lindenwood Nature Preserve is just around the corner from Lord Elwood's old house. He has always wanted to place a cache here because preserves are beautiful and great places for caches. But the rules on the website made him question whether it would be possible. So he picked up the phone and called. Not only did they give him permission, but they offered to help set it up!! So he recruited Lord Padishar and they decided to release the cache in conjunction with the Geocaching Brunch. So beware because those who have worked this preserve for years (and know all the nooks and crannies) played a significant part in placing the stages.

While that cache was a lot of fun, the diligence of the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation in trying to keep things nice for all of us to enjoy, inadvertently destroyed several stages of the original cache in a way that made it impossible to fix.  So I decided that I would still fix the cache, but I would also improve it.  An idea was passed along to me called an Intercache.  What is an Intercache?  Well think of a Wherigo (a multi-cache that is completely integrated into software into a GPS device) but make it MUCH easier to develop and make it possible for any smartphone to do.  That is an Intercache.  So to complete this cache you will need a smartphone.  Or at least a device that can receive GPS signals and can access the internet while in the preserve.  Make sure the GPS is "on" in your smartphone and ope your web browser.  Go to the following link and follow the directions:

While hunting this cache, be sure to take a few moments and look around. This place is beautiful and animals signs can be seen everywhere! There are also a couple of bird areas that are set up to attract several different species of birds. Even in the winter, the birds flock here for a bite to eat.

Also, this cache will be quite a hike (about 4 miles), so bring good boots (preserves can get VERY muddy after it rains) and plenty of drinking water (there is a working well at the preserve that pumps out drinking water).

And lastly, this is my first attempt at an Intercache.  Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.
