Geocache Description:

"Anthony+Kristen" and "Gojobean" welcome you to the cache:

A-K-GO Trail: Blue-5: The Sherwood Forest

Enjoy the trail. Both the one you take and the one you make. BYOP.

You can get close by taking a road, or you can meander through the forest like I did. Do you ever think this could be a famous forest like the Black Forest, Daintree Forest, Palatinate Forest or Sherwood Forest. Full of trees and stories. Like the tree near the cache. It started growing one way and then changed it's mind and grew another. Sometimes people start off the wrong direction but they can change. Just like the tree.

A-K-GO Trails

Trail ratings were based on hiking. Quads or bikes can be used for certain parts but are not suitable for getting to the cache. Some trail areas would be difficult to bike. Take care to watch for other bikes quads and the bike jumps in the lower area. The safety of the cacher and the environment were considered while placing this caches. Be careful with both.

Parking instructions can be found at GC4Q7BH (A-K-GO Trail: Green-1).

Trail descriptions are below. Cachers can choose to complete caches in any order.

GREEN TRAIL - Caches on this trail vary from 1.5 to 2.5 in difficulty. Each cache is a different container or creative hide. Fast, fun, kid friendly and doable in the winter. It's a leisurely 2 km hike at a light downhill pace from Green-1. Most of the elevation change happens after the cache Green-5.

BLUE TRAIL - Caches on this trail will vary from 2.0 to 3.5 in difficulty. Sometimes it's just about taking the path through the trees, not around them, and this is what the Blue Trail does. You choose the direction and route to go.. Enjoy the journey. And take someone with you.

BLACK TRAIL - Caches on this trail will vary from 3.5 to 5.0 in difficulty. Be prepared that caches may take you more time to find (unless your geosenses are strong) and in places more difficult to access. These are not caches for inexperienced cachers/hikers. It involves more hiking off the trail with higher elevation.

As always, practice safe caching.

  • Bring a pen.
  • Replace cache containers to their proper place.
  • Be prepared for the type and area of caching you are attempting.
  • Trade for something of the same value (Be sure to bring something to trade).
  • If you take a trackable or geocoin - be sure to keep it moving.
  • Have fun. What a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
