You are looking for a micro cache placed in Harnser Wood, Elsing.
Harnser Wood was planted in 2000 on 11 acres of former farmland. It is one of 250 woods planted in celebration of the Millennium as part of the “Woods on your Doorstep” project. Most of the trees are native oak, hornbeam, ash and birch. Other trees and shrubs have also been planted such as rowan, beech, field maple and wild cherry.
The wood was named to commemorate the partnership between the Woodland Trust and the Norfolk Women’s Institute in developing this wood. Harnser is the Norfolk word for a heron, which is the emblem of the Norfolk WI.
There is a small parking area near one of the entrances to the wood – N52° 42.548 E001° 01.883. Other parking is available near the village sign, in the village or at the village hall.
The two caches in Harnser Wood can easily be combined with the Wensum Way Trail.
Cache placed with the permission of The Woodland Trust.
