I have been wanting to place a cache back in my hometown of Eastport for quite a while now. I originally placed this cache within the general area a few months ago, took the coordinates and discovered the recorded coordinates were grossly off by about 35 miles for some crazy reason? Welcome to Eastport! Made the trip back today, found the cache, moved to another spot not far from original GZ. Coordinates look great now!
Cache is hidden at a spot in Eastport known as "Battery Field" or "Battery Hill." The cache is hidden within an area I spent a lot of time in when I was younger living back in Eastport. Be sure to bring your binoculars and enjoy this great vantage point where you can enjoy amazing views overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay and beyond. From this spot enjoy outstanding views of Lubec, Campobello as well as Grand Manan Island. Enjoy viewing the salmon cages sitting in the bay, watch a plane take off or land at the local airport. If you look closely you can spot the Cutler towers which glow red at night! Lots of boats in the bay can easily be observed from this spot as well. You can access GZ from the area around the baseball field as well as by way of the local cemetery, paths and roads are evident and easily accessible. Lots of Blueberries found around GZ when in season. Enjoy Eastports 4th of July celebration as well as the hugely popular Pirate Festival, its at these times the city really comes alive! This is an area you will not soon forget. Cache is a lock & lock, camouflaged to blend into the environment. Enjoy Eastport and all it has to offer! PLEASE re-hide this cache well and place it back in its original spot!
