Stofpad Traditional Cache

A well stocked cache in a beautiful, unspoilt area.

“Stofpad” is the Afrikaans word for “Dust Road”, which is an apt description of this place!   Except of course when it rains, when everything turns to mud!  We had lunch here during a long and dusty trek from Kubu Island to Nata.

During our long-awaited trip through Botswana (Jo’burg, Martinsdrift, Palapye, Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Kubu Island, Chobe Wildlife Reserve, Savuti, Moremi Wildlife Reserve …home) we came across some of the most amazing sights and places.  Often these stops were as a result of looking for a specific cache. 

We left a few caches along our route in places we thought were special.

This Baobab provides much needed shade to wildlife, cattle and tired travellers alike.  It also provides an ideal place for a cache.
