Hidden near the Victoria Dam wall, this cache is a short distance off the Jeep Track that runs up the back of Table Mountain, from Constantia Nek to the Woodhead and Hely-Hutchinson dams. The set of three dams that are first encountered as one ascends this route used to belong to the Wynberg Municipality. They supplied that area with water from the start of the 20th century before being taken over by the city in 1927. Victoria is the most westerley and the first on the Disa Stream. It was built following Alexandra dam to extend the capacity of the system by a further 0.13 million cubic metres. Of the 5 beautifully constructed, stonemasonary dams on Table Mountain, this is the shallowest at 6.4m.
The cache is a regular-sized (lunch-box) cache, so bring swappables.
