Geocache Description:

Stennigar Standing Stones

This cache is a 500 ml container with protective sleeve. Log book, pen, pencil and swaps with room for TB’s and Geocoins.

There has been much speculation as to the purpose of single or small groups of Standing Stones. The Stennigar Standing Stones are also known as the Leafea Standing Stones. This pair of stones can be seen on the brow of the hill when looking from the Car Park at Warbeth Beach.

The return coastal walk from Warbeth Beach is about 1.3 miles. Along the way there are some interesting sculptures built from stone which make interesting waypoints. The last waypoint is where there are two standing Stones either side of a ditch thought to be boundary markers. To prevent damaging crops, Please keep to the edge of the field close to the fence.

From the cache it is possible to see the 'Pelamis' wave power generators in the Bay of Billia Croo.
