You may manage to see some of his 'brothers'...look for them at:
Once you've figured out where / what his brothers are, this one may be easier...(though you can do this one all by itself). Also, see the original here:
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...
This little guy left home with several others, with his brothers mentioned in
This apple went downstream instead and
This Apple Went Upstream, and
Apple in Another Tree!. When his one brother went upstream, he continued downstream with the others. Eventually one brother (
This apple went downstream instead) decided he needed a break, but he and the
Apple in Another Tree! kept on going.
Eventually they arrived at a playground near the end of the paved path, and while his brother decided to have some fun at the playground, he continued following the stream. His brother claimed that the path looked frightening ahead, and that was why he wasn't sure he wanted to continue, but he said should his brother find a clear path, to return and he would certainly join him!
Well, the more adventurous of the two continued trudging along all by himself, and the path went from paved, to gravel, to dirt, then not much of a path at all, and when all seemed lost, finally the path returned!
He went thru an ominous tunnel, but once he passed thru, he saw that the path continued onward, into a green and beautiful meadow, all the while following the creek.
Determined to retrieve his brother and tell him the good news, he went back the way he came, but it was getting dark, the path was faint, and so he took shelter among some scary looking trees (hence the name of the cache). It is there that you will find him, just hanging out.
CACHE DESCRIPTION:
This is a puzzle cache, so the coordinates given are NOT where the cache is. Look at the parking waypoint as a place to start; if you start by instead parking at SR-198, you'll have to hike down a somewhat steep incline to get to the first clue (doable, but not recommended, unless you're feeling extra adventurous)
Instead, they are the coordinates to the CLUE which will lead you to the TRUE CACHE'S coordinates. NOTE: you may want to bring with you some paper and a writing utensil to do the simple math for this puzzle. See the instructions below:

CLUE:
Head to the given coordinates, somewhere around the location of the ominous tunnel mentioned you will find a number with the following format: X-_ _ _ _ (i.e., a four-digit number starting with a letter) which will lead you on your way.
Note: The letter at the beginning of the number is also indicative of a direction... (i.e. N, NE, S, SW, etc.) Going that direction will NOT lead you to your final destination however.
Using the number you've found, subtract the first digit of the number (for example, if the number were N-2761, you'd be subtracting 2) from the 2nd & 4th N° coordinate numbers below, and also subtract the last digit number (again, if we use N-2761 as the example, then subtract 1) from the 3rd & 5th numbers of the W° coordinates to create the true coordinates.
Below are the coordinates, which are correct EXCEPT for the underlined numbers, which are incorrect and need to be changed:
N 42° 03.184 W 113° 46.483
Hence if the number you were looking for were N-2761 (for demonstration purposes only), then you'd subtract 2 from the 2nd and 4th N° coordinate numbers, then subtract 1 from the 3rd & 5th numbers of the W° coordinates, all to finally end up with the following coordinates (changed numbers are bolded and underlined):
N 40° 01.184 W 112° 45.483
(FYI, N-2761 is not the actual number you're looking for, so the coordinates above are not correct, they are for example purposes only...sorry!)
Follow the trail / creek in the direction of the correct coordinates, and look for a spooky group of trees....it means you are close to your destination. Note that the trail somewhat dies off, but don't let that stop your quest!
Check the following link to confirm your coordinates: GeoChecker.com.
Note: This is a very well camouflaged container, so remember that doing the some of my other "Apple" series geocaches will help, especially the closest one, Apple in Another Tree! Also, you will likely need a tweezers or toothpick to remove this log, FYI.
