CONGRATZ TO BUSHSHAUN FOR FTF
Part of the war to peace series running from Old Fort Erie to the Peace Bridge. This hide is under some Kentucky coffee trees. The tree grows large pods and when ripe they can be collected and beans inside can be removed, roasted and brewed into a coffee alternative. THE SEEDS AND PODS ARE TOXIC IF NOT ROASTED. It may not be the Colombian Gold your used to drinking but in times of war you had to settle for what you could find locally. The Kentucky coffee tree - Gymnocladus dioicus is a member of the legume (pea) family. Although flowers appear on both male and female trees, only the female trees bear fruit. There is parking here and if your a birder you'll be sorry if you don't bring your birdnoculars. Stealth required for this one.
