McMaster Mill Historic Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BoxerBailey: unable to find a safe place in or near the park that is far enough away from the "notch cache" which is across the gorge. It puts it too close to the notch cache or near a neighbour who is not in favor of the park so she does not want to draw people to the park. so sadly will archive..

Geocache Description:

Opening today October 26/13 of McMaster Mill Historic Park and thought it deserved a cache. Should be winter friendly unless excessive snow.

After nearly two centuries of sawing logs, McMaster Mill is now Kings County’s newest historic park. I was unable to place a cache in the park as it was too close to a near by cache.  If the " the notch" cache ever get archived I would love to move my cache and place in the park

The mill is situated in Rockville Notch, along the Fales River, south of Greenwood, between the communities of Tremont and Harmony. The 2.8-hectare site contains the foundations of a dam, a sluice, wooden buildings and artifacts from the sawmill.  The land was donated with the understanding it would be a historic park. A lot of support from 14 Wing Greenwood as they have used the site for some of their search and rescue training because of the elevation and steep cliffs. This is a lovely spot and hope you have a chance to have a look.
