THIS IS A NIGHT CACHE

Hunt this at night and bring a strong flashlight!
Please read the cache description for helpful advice on how to successfully complete this cache.
Round trip is less than a mile. Cache can be completed in less than 30 minutes.

The final coordinates waypoint is visible in case you have trouble with the reflectors.


This cache was placed to honor psychovw's 7000th find! Everyone knows she is crazy about Volkswagens, but I wanted to focus on the other part of her caching name: Psycho. It also happens to be the name of a classic Alfred Hitchcock film. Did you know I like to make caches based on movies? It's true.

About the cache

This is a night cache. This means you need to hunt this cache after dark. Please note the park where you start closes at 9:30pm, so you should really be done by then.

Start at the posted coordinates, with your back to the rock climbing wall. Hold your strong bright flashlight at your eye level. Slowly shine it back and forth in front of you to find the orange circle reflector in the shape of a circle. Depending on the season, you may need to crouch down a little and pretend you are a kid on the playground for this first one. Once you spot it, walk to the reflector, and repeat the process. You will follow this trail of reflectors to the final location of the cache. Once you get going, just keep going in the direction of the reflectors. You may not always see the next one from where you are.

Pay very close attention when you find two reflectors on a host. This is where you will need to change direction. You may have to hunt a little harder for the next reflector. Be sure to look in all directions.

The second time you see two reflectors on a host, you are at the cache. You are welcome to take one of the special items inside to remember your adventure (while supplies last!). Please rehide the cache as well as you can.

Note: You are only hunting for small circular reflectors. There are some larger red square reflectors and some other reflective signs. Ignore these! They are not part of this cache.

About the honoree

psychovw (also known as Paycho because the "a" is right next to the "s" on the keyboard and a typo long ago stuck) and I have been on many adventures together over the past year and a half. Sometimes as Team PADD (with AKiteFlier and drank), or Team PADL (with AKiteFlier), or DarkO Paycho (with Odyn), or just the two of us as Dark Paycho. She is 2000% fun to cache with and never fails in making me laugh. She is a tenacious cacher who loves going to new and interesting places. I wanted to place this cache to honor her milestone.

Congratulations on your 7000 finds, Paycho! I look forward to many more.

About the movie


Psycho is a 1960 American suspense/horror masterpiece directed by Alfred Hitchcock starring Anthony Perkins, Vera Miles, John Gavin, and Janet Leigh. The screenplay is based on a 1959 novel which was loosely inspired by the crimes of Wisconsin murderer and grave robber Ed Gein (who was later the subject of the Slayer song "Dead Skin Mask").

This film has countless iconic images and moments that have forever been burnt into the minds of the collective conscious. It also led to a severe phobia of taking showers for many, many people.

Hopefully, you don't run into Mother while doing this cache.
