Today we celebrated the life of "Captain Mikey" Lockard who passed from us a last week. Captain Mikey was a well-respected member of the Salinas Fire Department who retired eight years ago after many decades of public service to the city of Salinas. He was one of my first company officers when I joined the department in 1995, stationed at Fire Station Four (GC15G3N) in east Salinas. I planted this cache in his honor in a location that overlooks his family homestead.
