Geocache Description:

arach·no·pho·bia (n) The pathological fear of spiders, sometimes resulting in rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, clamminess and uncontrollable panic.

They descend from ceilings on gossamer threads, eight legs gently fanning the air. They scuttle down walls and across the floor. They lurk in dark corners, sucking the juices from unwary insects. Sometimes, unbeknownst to us, they catch a ride on a passing human, crawling step by delicate step down our hairlines and under our collars, until the gentlest brush of a hairy appendage against our skin alerts us that something - some thing - is there...

Cache is a largish container hidden in a wooded glen, just a short walk from the street. Not suitable for tradeables. Signal scatter may be an issue so we've included extra details and an expanded hint. PLEASE READ THE TERRAIN CAUTIONS BELOW! Keep an eye out for collegiate muggles who sometimes hang out here. When replacing the lid of the container, take an extra moment to insure it's properly threaded and screwed down tight  - thanks!

We gave the terrain a 3.0 because conditions may be slick and slippery at all times of year, but especially during the rainy months. The shortest route to the cache is also the steepest; you may prefer to descend to the creek and follow it over. You're looking for a mammoth fallen tree with a spidery array of roots. WATCH YOUR FOOT PLACEMENT:  there are a number of places where the forest floor looks solid, but isn't, so make your way carefully and test each step. Please treat the flora with care. There's a gold coin for the FTF. Good luck, have fun and happy Halloween!
