Geocache Description:

Cammo'd plastic nut jar a few feet downhill from a mammoth Douglas fir tree — likely the oldest in this part of Banner Mountain. This magnificent giant is a special landmark on the Cascade Canal. In the early 1990s, a young area resident noticed the tree was marked for logging. She started a successful public campaign to save it. At that time, the canal path was not a public trail, so few people except nearby residents knew about the tree.


The cache contains some trinkets and toys for kids to swap.
