Samuel Allen Malone, a Veteran of the Civil War
You are seeking a short two stage multi cache that begins at the grave of Samuel Allen Malone, a Veteran of the Civil War.
Private Samuel Malone enlisted at Big Creek Cemetery with the Tuscaloosa Plowboys under the leadership of Captain Mayfield from Moore’s Bridge. The unit was organized in June 1861. While in camp during training, some 30 miles south of Memphis, the men of the unit came down with measles. The regiment they were originally supposed to join had left, and the only regiment left at the camp was the 38th Tennessee Regiment, which they joined. This is the reason the Tuscaloosa Plowboys never served with an Alabama regiment. The 38th Regiment served at Fort Donelson, Tennessee; the Battle of Shiloh; at Chickamauga; and the Battle of Atlanta.
To locate the final, gather information from the grave marker of Samuel Malone.
